Tyler Perry's Madea Farewell Play Tour

December 9, 2019 – Tyler Perry recently shocked fans of his most beloved character, Mabel “Madea” Simmons, by announcing that he would be ending the near 20-year run of the mouthy, grey-haired senior citizen who started it all!

Joining Perry will be his all-star friends, and supporting cast, Tamela & David Mann and Cassi Davis Patton!

Tyler Perry’s Madea Farewell Play Tour will visit Spectrum Center on Saturday, January 25, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 26, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) today unveiled updated plans and renderings for the second phase of its Re!magine Spectrum Center arena renovation project, with construction recommencing earlier this month following the conclusion of the 2025-26 NBA season. The extensive two-phased renovation project – which includes a range of significant highly visible and back-of-house upgrades – began in May 2024 and will result in a transformed arena. Spectrum Center will reopen its doors to tip off the NBA season as well as celebrate its 20th anniversary in October 2025.
